Most first-time private label projects fail in the same place: the buyer customises everything at once, the sample takes three rounds, and the launch slips a quarter. The fix is sequencing - decide what your market can see, in the order your customer will see it.
It means the product carries your brand and nothing on the shipment points to the factory. Your logo on the paddle, your brand on the box, your barcode on the carton, your shipping marks on the pallet. Nothing about that is exotic - it is how most pickleball brands you have heard of are made.
UV printing is the workhorse for paddles and gives you crisp, durable graphics; embroidery and laser work for apparel and caps. Send vector artwork where you can. Our custom T700 carbon fibre paddle is built for exactly this: 418 x 190 x 16 mm, around 230 g, thermoformed with an EVA-wrapped PP honeycomb core, and graphics applied by UV print. If you want a flagship above it, Kevlar carbon with a thermoformed build is the same production route with a different face material.
The second-cheapest way to look like a brand. Body colour, edge colour, grip colour, ball colour - all decided at the same moment as the logo and usually at no extra cost if you decide early rather than after the sample.
This is where most private label value is created, and where most new brands underinvest. A colour box with your brand, a hangtag, a barcode and the right carton marking is the difference between a product on a shelf and a product in a bin.
Core thickness and weight decide who the paddle is for. Thicker and heavier reads as control and comfort; thinner and lighter reads as power and speed. If you are unsure, our standard adult range covers 11, 13, 14 and 16 mm, and the fiberglass paddle is the entry price point most brands open with.
| What you have | Is it usable? | What happens next |
|---|---|---|
| AI / EPS / PDF / SVG | Yes, ideal | We proof it on the product and send a mockup |
| 300 dpi PNG / PSD | Yes, for simple logos | We clean the edges and confirm the colour |
| Screenshot, photo or sketch | Yes, still send it | Our team redraws it into vector artwork for approval |
| Nothing yet | Paper is fine | Describe the brand and we will mock up directions |
Always tell us your Pantone reference if the brand colour has to match exactly. What looks like the same blue on a phone screen is not the same blue on a paddle.
Poly bag - the cheapest route, fine for club and school orders, invisible at retail.
Colour box - the standard upgrade, and the point at which a product starts looking like a brand.
Gift box with accessories - works when you pair a paddle with a grip tape or a ball set to raise the average order value.
Retail-ready carton - barcode, hangtag, carton marks and, for marketplace sellers, FBA labels prepared to your specification.
One container can carry a paddle range, balls with your logo and an indoor option such as our 26-hole indoor ball - which is how a brand ends up with a full first season of product instead of one SKU with matching freight costs.
OEM - you choose from an existing range and put your brand on it. Fastest route, lowest cost, and the right starting point for most new brands.
ODM - you bring the concept, we develop drawing, sample, mould and production. Slower and more expensive, and the only route if your product has to be genuinely different.
A useful test: if your customers would buy the product without your logo, OEM is enough. If the product itself is the brand, budget for ODM and for the tooling that comes with it. We run both routes, including full OEM/ODM paddle programmes with integrated moulding and custom logo design.
Ask for an NDA before you send artwork. We sign on request, and we do not show a client's design or packaging to other clients.
Agree exclusivity in writing - territory, volume and period. It is a commercial promise, so put numbers on it.
Register your brand in your own market. We can tell you what a factory needs, but we cannot own your trademark for you.
Needs consultation - category, quantity, target market and price point.
Sample confirmation - you receive samples or a benchmark product to judge.
Design and proofing - logo, colours and packaging artwork for your approval.
Pre-production approval - the approved sample becomes the production standard. Nothing moves until you sign this off.
Mass production - 25-35 days standard after approval and deposit.
QC and shipping - AQL 2.5 inspection before dispatch, then FCL, LCL, air or DDP to your door.
If your range includes soft goods, teams or clubs, the same process covers custom team uniforms and 48-litre tournament bags, so one order can dress a team from paddle to bag.
Send a logo. Get a mockup.
If a logo is all you have, that is enough to start. Send the product you want it on and the market you sell in, and we will come back with a free mockup, a real MOQ and a dated production schedule.
